I was born and raised in the Michigan woods of the U.P. I viewed the trees as friends, and animals as family... I still do. My vast woody backyard was a never ending playground. I still can't believe the freedom I had to roam wherever, whenever. And my parents encouraged it. The smell of the pines, the songs of the birds, the warm breeze off the fresh lake were solitude, a way to maintain peace in my mind. 

My upbringing plays a huge role in who I am today. I still use a wander in the woods as meditation, a time to declutter thoughts and feelings. Life is busy, a constant hustle full of never ending decisions. Although I live in a fast paced and modern world, I make a conscious effort to stay connected with nature. It is truly my medicine.

This is where The Wynter Rose comes into the story.

Thanks to the pandemic...yes, I said it...I was able to slow down and focus on what I REALLY wanted to do. I went from a stressful and chaotic job that took up most of my time, to doing nothing...literally nothing. I had never had time to sit down and focus on what made me happy. I thought I was happy, I wasn't...that is why I "thank" the pandemic. For once I had the time to think, reflect, and ultimately decide on a passion that I knew I always had but never took the time to truly put any thought or effort into.

I began to expand my knowledge of plant life and how I can harness that life in more ways than just taking a quick sniff of a blossom or admiring the beauty of its growth. As I learned, experimented, and designed more plant based goodies I realized "this could be something other people would appreciate".

The Wynter Rose is a way to reconnect or stay connected to the earth and what its true power is: Life, health, wisdom, beauty. Relying on what the earth provides, and not on what is mass-produced and typically synthetic-based, is genuine power.

I have simple standards that are heavily eco-focused. I limit the use of plastic and focus on materials that are repurposed or can be repurposed. I try to use ingredients that are non-GMO and organic. I study, learn, and create using ingredients from reputable sources, sometimes local and found in my backyard. I utilize myself, family, and friends to test and give feedback before releasing a product to the market. I handcraft every product from scratch using my own formulas, never using premade bases or unnecessary fillers. These standards keep me grounded and focused on quality over quantity. My products are small batched to maintain freshness and limit waste, as well as controlling integrity of the product.

I like to think I am creating, on a small scale, a happier and healthier life for all, including the earth and her critters. I truly hope you feel the same way and find my products to be everything you expect them to be!
